Privacy policy
Colonygrid is designed to perform its culture-plate workflow locally. Robert Corbin, the developer, does not collect data from the app.
Data collection
Colonygrid does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal information, device identifiers, usage analytics, advertising data, location, contacts, or health information. The app contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking technology, account system, subscription, or in-app purchase.
Plate images and project records
Imported or captured plate images, project names, sample codes, notes, analysis settings, detected regions, reviewer corrections, calculations, and audit events are stored in the app's local container on your device. Imported images are re-rendered into a normalized image so embedded source metadata is not retained in the project copy.
Camera and photo access
The camera is optional and is requested only after you explicitly choose Camera. Photo import uses Apple's system Photos picker, which lets you choose an image without granting Colonygrid broad photo-library access. Colonygrid does not request location permission.
Exports and sharing
Colonygrid can generate PDF, CSV, JSON, and annotated-image evidence files locally. Those files leave the app only when you invoke Apple's share sheet and choose a destination. Your chosen destination may apply its own privacy policy. Generated evidence packages are removed by Colonygrid after seven days; source project records remain until you delete the project or app.
Network use
No network connection is required for analysis, project storage, calculations, or exports. Links in the Guide open external technical references only when you choose them. Visiting those sites is governed by each site's privacy practices.
Backups and device services
Apple may include app data in device backups according to your iCloud, Finder, device, and operating-system settings. Those services are controlled by Apple and by you; the developer does not receive that backup data.
Children and sensitive use
Because no information is collected by the developer, Colonygrid does not knowingly collect information from children. The app is a research and documentation aid and is not intended to store patient records, make diagnoses, or provide medical advice.
Changes and contact
If Colonygrid's data practices change, this page will be updated before the related app version is released. Privacy questions may be sent to the developer.
